3D product configurator
A product page tool that lets a shopper build a product from its options in 3D and see the price of the combination.
A 3D product configurator is a viewer with rules attached. The shopper chooses fabric, colour, modules or size, the model updates on the spot, and the price and lead time follow the choices. It exists for products with more combinations than a photo shoot could ever cover: a modular sofa with five modules and twelve fabrics has thousands of variants, and a configurator shows every one.
It differs from a plain viewer in what it knows. A viewer shows one product. A configurator knows which modules connect, which fabrics exist for which frame, and what each combination costs, so it can stop a customer choosing something that cannot be made.
Building one needs three things: a model split into its configurable parts, materials captured so they read correctly in every light, and the rules and prices from the retailer's product data. Once built it serves the web page, the AR view and the sales team's quoting tool from the same asset.
