Configurator for Shopware

Shopware is a shop platform developed in Germany. A 3D configurator is added to a Shopware 6 shop with a small script on the product detail page and an element placed where the image gallery is, usually through the theme or a plugin. The models are served from the vendor's content delivery network, so no large files are stored in the shop.

Shopware has 3D features of its own, which it calls Spatial Commerce. A merchant can upload a GLB file to a product, and the storefront shows it in a 3D viewer and offers a view in AR. This covers one model per product. A product with fabrics, modules and price rules needs a configurator as well.

Shopware builds variants from properties such as colour or size, and every generated variant is a product the customer can buy. Most of the work in a configurator project on Shopware goes into matching those properties to the configurator's options. When that is done well, the combination a customer builds arrives in the basket as the right variant at the right price.

The same approach works on Shopify, Magento and WooCommerce.
