CDN hosting for 3D
Serving model files from a content delivery network so they load fast everywhere and never touch the shop's server.
3D model files are large by web standards, and a shop's own server is the wrong place for them. A content delivery network keeps copies at locations near the shopper and serves the file from the closest one, which is the difference between a viewer that appears in a second and one that spins.
Hosting on a CDN also keeps the files out of the shop's deployment. The product page loads a script and refers to the model by its address; the theme never contains the model, and an updated model appears without a release.
For a subscription service, hosting is part of the price, and the retailer never manages the files.
