View in room
The AR feature on a product page that places the product on the shopper's floor at real size.
View in room, also called view in your space or view in AR, is the button on a product page that opens the product through the phone camera and lets the shopper stand it on their own floor. The model is locked to real scale, so a two-metre sofa is two metres across in the room, and the shopper can walk around it, move it and compare it to the furniture already there.
It is the single most used AR feature in retail, because it answers the question that stops most furniture purchases: will it fit. It needs no app, only a model in the right formats and a phone made in the last several years.
The quality of the answer depends entirely on the model. If the dimensions are off, the feature produces the return it was meant to prevent.
