Hotspots
Markers on a 3D model that open a short note about that part of the product.
Hotspots, also called annotations, are small markers placed on the surface of a 3D model. Tapping one opens a note: the type of wood, the fabric composition, the joinery, the dimension of that part. They stay attached to the model as it turns, so the note is always next to the thing it describes.
They turn a viewer into a salesperson. A shopper who would never read a specification table will tap the marker on the armrest. The craft is in choosing what to annotate, which is what a buyer actually wonders about, and in writing notes that answer rather than advertise.
Hotspots are stored with the model and shown by the viewer; they work on the web and, in most viewers, not in the AR view.
